"Life Starts Now" is an anthemic rock collection from guitarist, singer/songwriter and recording artist Jay Shoman. Collaborating with long time guitarist Ed Hart, "Life Starts Now" combines fast guitar riffs and melodic overlays in major key tonalities with acoustic arpeggios, "Life Starts Now" establishing an upbeat, rock and roll foundation with hard-hitting lyrics. The self titled track, "Life Starts Now," implores listeners to seize the day while delivering aggressive, effective rhythm guitars and octave overlays. "Farewell My Son" juxtaposes upbeat tempo with sobering lyrics to identify with the greatest gift of all, life. "Can't Let Go," incorporates tranquil, acoustic beginnings and culminates in a metal symphony of deliberate intentions. "O.C.M.D," "Under A Spell" and "Here's To Forty" supply lyrical satire, along with rhythmic chord progressions for a genuine rock and roll experience. The more serious side of Shoman is heard in "Bi-Polar," a song which uses synth melodies, vocal distortion and fast guitars to deliver a roller coaster ride describing the disease of the same name. Authoritative drum sequences and guitars in overdrive highlight "My Nightmare," while the powerful bridge of "To The Fallen" takes you on a journey through history with gentle verses and heavy chorus lines. "Coming Home" and "Now And Forever" consist of rhythmic vocal tracks, clean chord progressions and balanced bridges.
